Today England took a tentative step towards unlocking with non essential shops, gyms, pools, outdoor hospitality and, perhaps most importantly, hairdressers reopening for the first time since November. Each step of the unlocking has different implications for the type and size of weddings allowed (step 2 allows 15 guests, step 3 allows for 30 guests with a reception). Here at The Wedding Arrangers we’ve got our eyes firmly on the prize - Step 4, planned for June 21st, and full unlocking to allow weddings to get back to normal.
Planning your London wedding
As the June target gets closer you’ll find that wedding planning really picks up momentum. Many suppliers are opening up their doors to couples for the first time this year and we’re finally seeing our clients able to:-
Visit boutiques and tailors
Visit venues for site visits
Visit hairdressers & make up artists for trials and consultations
Organise food tastings with caterers (some of our caterers are waiting until phase 3 (May 17th) when indoor hospitality reopens - those that are allowing tastings now have strict Covid-secure measures in place)
Book other suppliers with a touch more confidence
It goes witout saying that if you’ve been holding back on starting your wedding planning for 2021 or the first half of 2022, now really is the time to get moving. Contact The Wedding Arrangers today to get the wheels in motion.
Keep following the rules - we’re not there yet!
If there’s one thing that this last year has taught us, that is to not take anything for granted. Throughout April the government has announced a series of pilot events that will pave the way for full unlocking in June. On top of this we are looking at 4 measures remaining on track:-
The coronavirus vaccine programme must continue to go to plan with all adults being offered their first vaccine by July 2021
There must be evidence to show that vaccines are sufficiently reducing the number of people dying with the virus or needing hospital treatment
There is no surge in infections leading to increased hospital admissions
New variants of the virus are kept in check
It goes without saying that if we want life to get back to normal, we all have to keep following the rules. The end is in sight - we can’t wait to celebrate with you when we get there!
Food, music, booze
It’s time to get out and support all of those pubs and restaurants that have been in hibernation. Eater London of created this fantastic interactive guide to help you find a fabulous spot to wine and dine this Spring.
We’re also happy to see so many festivals announcing rocking line ups for a post lockdown boogie. Here’s Time Out’s guide to the best in town.
We look forward to seeing you out and about in London soon.
Take care and stay safe.
